Georgia Christoforou

Georgia Christoforou comes from Derynia, Famagusta district. She studied music theory and piano until 2003, at which year she was accepted at the Music Department of the Ionian University having scored the highest average grade over Cyprus at the induction exams. During her studies, she mainly focused her attention to Music Technology with Professor Th. Lotti, Electronic Music Composition with Professor A. Mniestris and Music in Performing Arts with Professors D. Maragopoulos and D. Trypani. She also attended modules taught by established Composers of Contemporary Music, such as J. Papadatos and Ch. Xanthoudakis and the internationally known conductor Miltos Logiadis.

In 2008 she graduated with distinction from the Ionian University majoring in Composition, receiving a Scholarship and in 2009 she graduated from Kingston University London, with a Masters in Composition for Film and TV.

Her catalogue of compositions includes electronic music, chamber music, works for orchestra, music for theater, music for TV news and entertainment programs of RIK (CYBC) etc. She also scored three short films, with numerous participations in European festivals. She has collaborated with the internationally acclaimed saxophone quartet Delta Sax Quartet, who have recorded one of her works.
