Persia Panayiotou is a composer and music analyst working as a theorist at the University of Nicosia. Her PhD in Musicology at the University of Birmingham examined temporal processes in Debussy’s late music. Her research areas lie in the analysis of twentieth-century music, phenomenology, and twentieth-century French philosophy. She has presented her research in conferences in Cyprus, the UK and France.

Persia received her MMus in Composition at the University of Manchester, and is a member of the Center of Cypriot Composers, having composed several works that have been performed in Cyprus and abroad. She has worked at the past as a theorist at the Limassol Music Lyceum, and is an active pianist and violinist holding a First Class BMus from the University of Lancaster.
