Argyro Christodoulides

Argyro Christodoulides was born in Nicosia (Cyprus) in 1982. She began studying piano at the age of six and theory of music at the age of ten. Having obtained the Royal School of Music diplomas in both piano and theory she then attended courses of classical guitar, orchestration, arrangement and jazz theory.

Argyro began to compose at the age of nine and after a successful audition, in the year 2001 she was offered a place to study composition (with professors Alessandro Timossi and Julian Philips) and piano performance (with Peter Bithell) at the renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where she graduated in 2005. Along with composition and piano performance she studied orchestration and conducting with Alan Hazeldine , arrangement with Simon Wills and took part in a series of master-classes with the renowned composer and musicologist Alexander Goehr.

Since 2005 Argyro has been working as a freelance composer. Her list of works includes music for National Geographic's 3D Games (for PS, Wii and X-Box), music for award winning animation and films, compositions for orchestras, small and large ensembles, contemporary operas, commercial songs for various CD productions, music for theatre, TV and radio commercials and documentaries. She also works as an arranger and performer (pianist).
