Aris Antoniades has composed the original soundtrack for the Cannes listed short-film Not Now (2013), directed by Myrsini Aristidou, as well as three other films. His concert music has been performed in venues such as the Chinese Culture University (Taipei, Taiwan), Kingston University (London, UK), and Rialto Theater (Limassol, Cyprus). His music is heavily influenced by his Greek heritage: merging Hellenic folk dance rhythms with Byzantine ritual chants. Mr. Antoniades arranged music for his country’s largest military band, having served in the Cypriot National Guard with the Military Music Corps. In this capacity he produced more than 20 works, including European National Anthems and marches by composers such as Remoundos, Visvardis and Gitsas. A recipient of the Fulbright award, Mr. Antoniades completed his undergraduate degree in classical composition at Manhattan School of Music, receiving the Provost’s Award for Academic Excellence. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree at the same conservatory, studying with Dr. J. Mark Stambaugh.
